Afton Partners seeks a Managing Director to lead Afton’s growing Early Childhood (EC) practice. The practice provides strategic advisory services for policy and systems change initiatives to state and local governments, non-profits, and other impact-focused organizations seeking to improve conditions for families with young children, with an emphasis on early childhood education and care.

The Managing Director is our most senior client serving staff, responsible for excellence in client delivery, supporting Afton’s strategy and growth, and cultivation of our EC team’s senior talent in alignment with our core values. The Managing Director will earn trust of client partners in ways that extend our client contracts and solidify our industry reputation. They will set the vision and strategy for the EC team, connected to overall Afton vision and strategy. They will execute that strategy and manage the P&L for the EC sector. They will cultivate and lead Afton’s EC team in alignment with company values and performance frameworks. They will serve as a thought partner in business development and execute revenue generation leads with Partners.

To be successful in this role, the Managing Director will be a recognized leader with strong relationships, extensive knowledge of federal/state/local EC context (including policies, programs, and systems), specific expertise in governance, funding, and quality systems; and leadership skills that will enable Afton’s EC team to thrive.
