Position Summary: As a member of the University's Decision Support Group, the Senior Business Analyst will deliver high quality service to the user community, and support business intelligence and analytics for decision making. Research and enhance documentation for data flows, systems integrations, ETL logic, business processes, and other factors that affect reporting. Research high priority data discrepancies, and work closely with IT Partners to implement resolutions. Develop documentation and tools for the team to understand the information environment, to automate research, and to achieve efficient resolution of issues. Create and maintain working relationships with appropriate experts (data stewards, data custodians, and other subject matter experts) to resolve issues to client's full satisfaction. Provide 1:1 training for intermediate and advanced ad hoc report development within Student and Finance domains.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
5+ years of related experience researching and documenting complex data systems. Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and reporting structures. Experience providing high-quality, user-centered customer service to, and collaborating with, multiple client organizations. Support of a large customer base within an institution of higher education.
Preferred Experience:
Understanding of Student, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Budget and Treasury operations in a higher education setting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (such as Oracle OAC, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.) Experience with PeopleSoft in a higher education setting. Experience with SQL and programming languages.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with Tableau and/or Hyperion Reporting.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 to USD $130,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
