Job Summary | The David Eccles School of Business is seeking a strategic and collaborative Senior Manager of Marketing and Brand Strategy Management to serve as the strategic marketing partner for assigned programs, departments, centers, institutes, and school initiatives while providing project management and supervision for the department’s graphic design and web teams.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand Strategy, Marketing, and Communications, this position develops integrated marketing strategies, builds trusted relationships with school partners, and leads marketing initiatives from planning through multi-channel execution to advance the school’s priorities.
In addition to leading assigned portfolios and partnerships, this position provides supervision and project management for the department’s graphic design and web teams, ensuring work is effectively prioritized, resources are aligned with departmental priorities, and marketing initiatives are delivered with quality, consistency, and accountability.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and operationally strong, with experience leading integrated marketing initiatives in a collaborative environment. This position requires excellent relationship management, communication, leadership, and project management skills, along with the ability to develop effective marketing strategies, manage multiple priorities, and translate strategy into coordinated, high-quality execution. Responsibilities | Serve as the strategic marketing partner for assigned programs, departments, centers, institutes, and school initiatives. Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies aligned with organizational objectives, audience needs, and the school’s strategic priorities. Build strong relationships with school partners while providing strategic marketing counsel and recommendations. Lead marketing initiatives from planning through execution, coordinating work across multiple marketing channels. Manage multiple marketing initiatives simultaneously while ensuring quality, accountability, effective communication, and successful execution. Provide supervision and project management for the department’s graphic design and web teams, including establishing priorities, managing workloads and allocating resources to ensure marketing initiatives are effectively executed and aligned with departmental priorities. Ensure marketing and communications initiatives align with the David Eccles School of Business brand, messaging, strategic priorities, and quality standards. Monitor marketing performance and recommend improvements based on analytics and organizational goals. Collaborate across the Branding, Marketing, and Communications team to strengthen marketing effectiveness, consistency, and continuous improvement. Support additional strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications |
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences | Experience working in higher education or other complex, matrixed organizations. Agency experience or experience working with multiple partners, stakeholders, departments, or business units is a plus. Experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies across multiple channels and audiences. Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and serve as a strategic advisor to organizational leaders and stakeholders. Experience supervising staff and managing design and web teams. Strong understanding of brand management, messaging, content strategy, and integrated marketing. Experience using marketing analytics and performance data to evaluate effectiveness and inform decision-making. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organization, communication, and follow-through. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Asana or other project management platforms.
