Marketing Communications Specialist Full Description

Posting Title: Marketing Communications Specialist Overview: 
The Marketing Communication Specialist will assist in the design and execution of marketing campaigns to meet specific lead generation targets for graduate programs from inquiry to enrollment. The position works closely with the Enrollment Operations team to help build, automate, and analyze student recruitment campaigns. This position coordinates the day-to-day marketing and communication operations, develops and implements annual marketing plans and builds collaborative working relationships with the University marketing department, personnel in the schools and academic departments and with external vendors.
 
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $70,000- $75,000. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Use data to formulate and execute marketing strategies.
  • Create engaging content across numerous channels.
  • Evaluate department's performance achieving marketing goals by using rigorous data analytics to help guide strategic priorities.
  • Track prospective students' activities and interests to help optimize marketing campaigns and messaging.
  • Collect data on prospective students, competitors, and marketplace trends and convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and dashboards.
  • Assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs and tables) from structured data sources by querying data repositories and generating the associated information. Distribute and disseminate reports to applicable senior leaders and other internal end-users.
  • Serve as a resource for non-routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys.
  • Analyze data through multiple software tools and data aggregators including Slate, Google Analytics, Excel Power Inquiries.
  • Manage department’s social media and update Graduate Admissions website as needed.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree, in a relevant academic field or comprable prior experience.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience. Preferred: Master’s degree in Higher Education, Marketing, Communications or related field, plus two (2) years of experience in higher education marketing.
  • Experience with Slate (CRM) or similar CRM systems, Google Analytics, Excel Power Queries.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible, and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multiple internal and external partners including students, faculty, and staff as well as outside vendors on key marketing projects
  • Basic statistical ability.
  • Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.
  • Ability to take a leadership role on projects and with users/clients.
  • Knowledge of data mining software and reporting through Google Analytics or other software.
  • Skillset and experience creating analytics reports that drive comprehensive marketing plans.
