Marketing Coordinator Full Description

Overview:

Utah State University Athletic Department is seeking applications for a Marketing Coordinator position. This is a part-time position that reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Utah State University, the Pac-12 Conference, and the NCAA.

Responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This list is not a comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities and are subject to change under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement.

  • Serve as the primary marketing/fan experience contact for soccer and softball and as the secondary contact for men’s basketball.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of marketing, promotional and fan experience efforts for all sports, and any specific sport or event assigned.
  • Develop full-scale fan experience and marketing plans for assigned sports.
  • Work with the Assistant AD of Marketing to manage and properly execute budgets for assigned sports.
  • Collaborate with coaches and their staffs to plan and implement a marketing plan for each respective team.
  • Assist with managing PA announcers, coordinating music, video board elements, cheer squad, pep band, and other marketing needs to direct the flow of games, events and promotions with the objective of creating an environment conducive to fan engagement.
  • Create an exciting atmosphere at all home events using giveaways, contests, performances, music and more. Be creative in coming up with new ways to engage and excite our fans.
  • Promote athletic events and communicate promotions throughout campus and the local community.
  • Assist in the management of the day-to-day duties of the student internship program and intern oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or a related field
  • Experience working in college or professional sports

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Exemplary interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to professionally handle confidential and sensitive situations
  • Attention to detail
