Job Summary  | The Marketing Specialist supports the Bass School’s marketing and communications efforts by creating engaging content across digital and print platforms. This role is content-driven, with a strong emphasis on storytelling, digital marketing, and cross-channel coordination (web, social, email and print). The Marketing Specialist works closely with the Senior Director of Communications and school units to help tell the stories of Bass students, faculty and staff and to promote events, programs and initiatives in alignment with the Bass School’s strategic goals.


Minimum Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or other applicable area of study. 1 year of experience in a marketing, communications, public relations or closely related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience can be accepted.
Preferred Education and Experience  | Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Solid writing and editing skills with attention to detail and accuracy. 1+ years of experience in a marketing or communications role (paid internships included). Familiarity with SEO principles, social media platforms and content management systems (WordPress, Constant Contact, Buffer). Basic knowledge of tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Creative Suite as well as project management platforms such as Asana. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Interest in higher education and storytelling that drives engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
· Proactively cultivate leads to produce stories on Bass students, faculty, alumni and staff.
· Write and edit copy for web, social media, email and print using AP style and UT Dallas editorial guidelines.
· Proofread and edit content, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
· Plan, maintain and populate a semester-based social media calendar with content tailored to relevant audiences and platforms.
· Schedule and publish social media content using a social media management platform.
· Assist with web updates using WordPress.
· Conduct SEO keyword research to create and update web content that improves visibility and engagement.
· Maintain a semester-based editorial calendar focused on deeper storytelling about Bass students, faculty, and staff.
· Create and coordinate content for organic/paid campaigns.
· Collaborate with vendors/internal teams to help execute programmatic advertising.
· Create and execute emails/email campaigns using Constant Contact.
· Create and send newsletters (WordPress, Constant Contact).
· Assist with content needs for podcast.
· Coordinate and manage projects and tasks on Asana.
· Ensure consistent messaging across web, email, and social media platforms.
· Work with leadership and school units including Events, Development, Undergraduate Recruitment and Graduate Recruitment teams to support initiatives.
· Monitor traffic, engagement and growth across school channels; compile performance reports; and offer suggestions to adjust tactics and strategies (social media, web, email, print).
· Cover Bass/campus events as required for timely promotion on Bass channels.

Additional Information  | Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly) after a 6 month probationary period. Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
