Brainscape is seeking a talented Modern Hebrew translator / content creator to help build a new A1 curriculum for our flashcard web and mobile app. You’ll work from our proven content template (with full training and style guide provided) to create high-quality flashcards and study materials designed specifically for beginner learners.
You will be responsible for creating and reviewing A1 language content that is clear, accurate, and culturally relevant. This role is collaborative and requires a keen eye for detail, plus the ability to simplify complex concepts for first-time learners.
- Advise on best practices for representing Modern Hebrew in a digital flashcard format (e.g., script vs. romanization, diacritics, learner scaffolding).
- Provide feedback on learner challenges unique to Modern Hebrew (e.g., script direction, pronunciation).
- Adapt our content template for A1 flashcards to create a full Modern Hebrew A1 curriculum.
- Write accurate and contextually appropriate translations for vocabulary and phrases.
- Craft concise, beginner-friendly flashcard footnotes explaining grammar, pronunciation, or cultural nuances.
- Review and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and pedagogical soundness with our style guide.
- Apply best practices from language learning tools and mobile flashcards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fluent in both English and Modern Hebrew.
- Bonus points for proficiency in a third language.
- Experience teaching Modern Hebrew or developing language learning content.
- Ability to simplify complex grammar and cultural points for A1 learners.
- Comfortable with online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Trello).
Commitment
