The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Participates in cross-functional, agile design team to develop engaging, effective learning experiences.
- Creates media in all forms; polished visual images, audio files that meet the project's objectives, animations with sophistication that shows advanced skill.
- Consults with team/project leads, experience designers and others and ensures media are aligned with desired product goals and outcomes.
- Can clearly describe how and why the media meets objectives, messaging, and requirements.
- Understands the role of media in relation to learning science and applies it consistently; when is it best to use animation over stills, photography over illustration, abstract patterns versus realistic images.
- Requests both informal and structured feedback from various sources, including team/project leads, experience designers and users, and makes adjustments accordingly.
- Rapidly produce multiple possible approaches for usability testing, AB testing and stakeholder presentations.
- Works with development team to ensure technical feasibility of designs; works with front-end developers to leverage the latest widely adopted HTML/CSS capabilities and SVG as appropriate.
- Produces final media optimized for web and mobile delivery.
- Ensures learning design and content development are completed on time and within budget and meet standards of quality.
- Collaborates with peers to apply and drive best-practices in media production.
- Shares knowledge with others by providing instruction, tips, templates for learning creation and editing techniques.
- Models leadership and professionalism.
- Develops and maintains a collaborative relationship with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Stays current with design trends and emerging media technologies.
- Reviews student feedback and provides recommendations for design enhancements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Expert in design, layout, and visual communication.
- Experience in multimedia design and production for web, mobile and/or eLearning including still graphics, animation, audio and video.
- Understanding of HTML 5 and CSS 3 as it applies across different browsers and screen resolutions.
- Expert-level proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, video and audio editing software, and other design and multimedia production tools.
- Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Conceptual knowledge of web/software development.
- Strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the quality of our product.
- Approaches job tasks and projects with a mindset of continuous learning and improvement, improving skills and sophistication, self-motivated to learn new skills.

- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in media production for education.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Position & Application Details
