Description of Work | Position is responsible for managing and developing orientation- and enrollment-related programs, initiatives, and procedures that support special populations of undergraduate students and stakeholders, including but not limited to transfers, international students, non-traditional students, commuters, first-generation students, parents and family members. Will manage working relationships with UNL faculty and staff, NSE orientation leaders, International Welcome Team members, student staff, and NSE professional staff. Responsible for email campaigns, online orientation and materials , presentations, proposals, schedule development, training, and any other communications or logistical aspects related to special-population programs. Position will work collaboratively with senior associate director in pre-program planning, execution, training, and post-program follow-up and evaluation. Ability to give presentations and work occasional night and weekend hours required.

Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree plus two year of professional experience in higher education student support services. Training and supervision of student leaders Experience developing initiatives or programs for college students Experience in event planning and management Public speaking experience Excellent oral and written communication and attention to detail Strong computer and presentation skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Proven experience working collaboratively and effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, education, counseling, sociology or related field Experience managing email communications and web content Experience supporting at least one of the following special populations in higher education: transfers, international students, nontraditional students, out-of-state students, commuters, parents/family members, first-generation students Experience in learning management systems Experience interacting with the University community
