Scope of Position
The Nurse Manager of Perioperative Education provides strategic and operational leadership for perioperative education programs, initiatives, and teams. This role ensures the delivery of evidence-based, high-quality educational experiences that support onboarding and orientation, competency assessment and validation, continuing education, professional development, and clinical advancement for nursing and allied health professionals. The Nurse Manager fosters a culture of lifelong learning, promotes regulatory and accreditation compliance, and collaborates with interdisciplinary leaders to advance clinical excellence, workforce readiness, patient safety, and quality outcomes across the perioperative continuum.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager of Perioperative Education is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational initiatives that promote excellence in perioperative practice and support the professional growth of perioperative nurses, surgical technologists, and other allied health team members. The Nurse Manager fosters a culture of lifelong learning, clinical excellence, and evidence-based practice across the perioperative environment. The Nurse Manager establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships with clinicians, educators, operational leaders, quality and patient safety teams, interdisciplinary departments, and frontline staff. Serving as an educational consultant, subject matter expert, and key resource for perioperative nursing practice, this individual provides guidance on educational programs, clinical standards, competency development, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based care. In partnership with organizational stakeholders, the Nurse Manager leads and supports initiatives focused on improving patient outcomes, enhancing workforce development, advancing clinical practice, optimizing operational processes, and strengthening the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative care. This role contributes to the achievement of departmental, nursing, and organizational goals through effective leadership, strategic planning, innovation, and continuous performance improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
  • BSN of an accredited program and hold a current RN licensure or other clinical role
  • Master’s degree in education, healthcare or related field
  • Minimum of five years relevant clinical experience.
  • Demonstration of leadership, communication, organizational and management skills
  • Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
