Job Summary  | The Nursing Simulation, Success, and Retention Coach is a full-time non-faculty staff position within the School of Nursing that will work with BSN pre-licensure students on the Troy and Dothan campuses.The Nursing Simulation, Success, and Retention Coach will be a hybrid role responsible for simulation lab operations and academic coaching. This position will support the development of at-risk students through coaching, guidance, and academic support and the coordination of simulation experiences that foster clinical competence and confidence.

Responsibilities:
1. Manage daily operations of the simulation lab, including setup, takedown, and inventory of all simulation equipment/supplies.2. Coordinate and implement simulation activities in collaboration with faculty, aligning with course objectives and student learning outcomes.3. Schedule simulations, orientations, and training for students, faculty, and standardized patients.4. Maintain compliance in simulation with state and national standards.5. Assists students with setting goals and identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles and defining steps in education planning.6. Provides assistance to students and instructors to problem solve issues that arise related to progress towards academic goals, perseverance, and attendance.7. Coordinates student referrals to services to help overcome social and economic barriers.8. Develops and presents lessons and/or workshops to promote organization, readiness and skills, study techniques, test taking strategies, healthy lifestyle habits, stress reduction methods, and school-life balance.9. Ability to counsel and coach students to offer assistance.10. Flexible schedule that may require meetings during the daytime and/or during the evening hours.11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  | 1. An earned associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing;2. An active, unencumbered Alabama registered nurse license, or a multistate registered nurse license issued by a party state;3. Professional nursing practice experience;4. CHSE Certification.
