| Job Description | Responsible for advising and promoting activities and providing leadership opportunities for Texas State students and the campus community. |
| Job Duties | · Engage online students through email, phone, and web conferencing. · Provide generalist academic advising for students in a wide range of online majors, including degree planning, course selection, and completion. · Provide exceptional customer service to explain complex policies, procedures, and information. · Connect students to college-wide resources, providing additional referrals as needed.
· Provide basic success coaching. · Acknowledge and research student concerns, collaborate with appropriate stakeholders, and advocate for solutions with a commitment to fairness and integrity. · Perform outreach services to promote student engagement, success, and completion. · Maintain a high regard for accuracy and clarity in all student interactions. · Maintain detailed student records. · Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA. · Stay up to date on changes in curriculum and admissions criteria for online programs. · Commitment to ongoing professional development and attainment of knowledge regarding industry advancements and best practices in academic advising, success coaching, student engagement, and online learning. · Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering TXST mission. · Collaborate with departments across campus as needed. · Other duties as assigned. |
