Job Description  | This position is a 10-month FT Academic Year Position (Mid-August-Mid-June)
The role provides administrative and operational support to the College’s Office of Budget and Operations. This position is responsible for overseeing HR and payroll functions, performing detailed account reconciliations, and processing a variety of financial and personnel transactions. This role helps ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all administrative processes within the Budget Office.
Education and Experience  | Associate’s degree or related field or equivalent practical experience.

Skills and Knowledge  | Microsoft Office (primarily preparing reports in excel). PeopleSoft experience preferred. Attention to detail. Problem solving skills. Professional and personable. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities  | Reconcile PTI letters, PINs and contracts, request new PINs as needed, calculate appropriate pay for staff PTIs and ensure semi-pays are processed accurately. Monitor job records and payroll for accuracy and investigate errors, process corrections (i.e. RAPs) or communicate issues with units or HR/Payroll as required. Responsible for ordering office supplies, catering orders, and any maintenance needs. Act as primary point of contact for office student employee, oversee scheduling, assign tasks, and coordinate with office to determine where resources are needed. Co-monitor the vpatime@syr.edu shared e-mail and respond to questions/issues in a timely manner. Assist with Time Clock Plus questions/issues. Assist with payroll questions and issues to ensure compliance with Syracuse University policies and procedures. Review, process and audit new hire requests for student and temporary positions. Other duties/projects as assigned. Act as back-up to other departments as needed.
