Job Description:
Position Salary Range: $68,000.00 per year​
Assist with the Management of the routine operations of ASU Library under the direction of the Executive Director for Fiscal and Business Operations

The Operations Manager provides fiscal, and transactional support for multiple departments within ASU Library.   The Operations Manager is responsible for a wide range of duties which include, but are not limited to, accounting, purchasing, grant management, and developing internal procedures.  Duties will also include purchasing card management, building and creating reports from various databases and software programs, and acting as a resource.  Other functions include assisting with accounting, position funding, strategic planning, inventory control, internal procedures and other functions that have been designated.

Essential Duties:
  • Oversight of monthly account and purchasing card transactions
  • May be responsible for reviewing and approving purchases
  • Assist with the preparation of operational budgets; monitor revenue and expenditures against operational budgets
  • May act as backup to the Executive Director any budgetary duties
  • Analyze and interpret statistical, financial and management planning data for decision-making purposes
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of financial and administrative reports, to include foundation reporting and grant reporting
  • Manage multiple ASU and ASU Foundation Accounts
  • Responsible for completing Year End tasks including finalizing expenditures and identifying expenses that roll over to the next Fiscal Year under strict deadlines
  • Keep informed of, interpret and apply pertinent rules, regulations, policies and procedures set forth by university or other governing agencies; inform affected staff as changes occur
  • Assists with responses to audit requests and gathers documentation for PCard and financial records

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fiscal policies and procedures and overall fiscal administration
  • Experience with processing financial transactions
  • Knowledge of financial and payroll reconciliation processes
  • Experience in managing multiple accounts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fund accounting and purchasing policy
  • Experience with processing purchases through Workday adhering to ASU policy with certain thresholds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PCard guidelines
  • Advance knowledge of excel
  • Experience pulling and reviewing reports
  • Able to work in a high-volume environment with being able to adapt to changing requests and competing deadlines
  • Evidence of problem-solving skills to streamline a process or find solutions in complex issues
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with inclusive populations and groups
  • Use computers effectively-including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen and using mouse and keyboard.
