Pay Range $66,000 - $70,000

Job Description The Office of Academic and Student Services provides a thorough and effective support system for all SOE students with a focus on the following areas: undergraduate and graduate admissions, academic advising, and career services. The Operations Manager reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment and oversees administrative functions and operations in the office, focusing on admissions and recruitment. Specific responsibilities include managing, developing, and streamlining operational processes and procedures; supporting graduate and undergraduate admissions and recruitment, including direct outreach and support to prospective undergraduate and graduate students and planning and coordinating programs and events and maintaining close working relationships with staff and faculty in SOE , and departments across the University. This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU , Local 200United
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma is required. Must have a minimum of 3 years post degree work experience.

Skills and Knowledge Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with various videoconferencing tools; and the ability to quickly master new software systems. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deal with multiple demands; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail is a must. Ability to handle sensitive information and exercise independent judgment is required. Appreciation and sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds is necessary. Familiarity with academic institutions (higher education and K-12) helpful. Comfortable providing direct, front-line support to prospective students and families via phone, email, and in-person contact.

Responsibilities Admissions and Recruitment Support Support the Associate Director as well as other SOE staff and faculty involved with graduate and undergraduate recruitment and admissions initiatives and processes Support includes, but is not limited to, working with University systems (Slate, Data Insights) and generating and maintaining reports that inform decision-making; coordinating document and application processing workflows, including tracking file completeness and supporting admissions workflow oversight; and supporting marketing and communications efforts, such as mass mailings, email campaigns, and inquiry follow-up Provide front-line support to prospective students, answering general admissions questions and providing program information via telephone, email, in-person meetings, and virtual meetings Connect prospective students to the appropriate staff, directors, and program coordinators to support their progress toward enrollment Programs and Events Own event logistics (registration, room booking and set up, materials, day-of coordination) for programs and events connected to the Office of Academic and Student Services, with a particular focus on admissions and recruitment events such as Orange Previews, Admitted Student Days, virtual events, regional events, Peer Advisor activities, orientation programs, etc. Coordinate with faculty, staff, and student leaders to support recruitment efforts Attend graduate school fairs and other graduate-level recruitment events Admissions and Recruitment Operations Manage the operational infrastructure supporting the School’s admissions recruitment strategy (e.g., maintaining shared recruitment calendars and coordinating logistics for travel/event registrations) Support Slate administration – data entry standards and user access/training for staff/faculty so staff and faculty have reliable data Working closely with the business office, track and reconcile the recruitment/admissions budget, including expenditures for travel, events, and materials General Operations Manage, develop, and streamline operational processes and procedures for the Office of Academic and Student Services Operational processes and procedures include, but are not limited to, the office calendar and programming and events schedule; University technology and systems (e.g., Orange SUccess, OnBase); and student employees (recruitment, hiring, training, supervision) Stay attuned to changes to central operational processes and procedures and adjust office operations as necessary
