Job Summary | The Student Union’s Student Services Manager works on a dynamic team of community builders and Student Union professionals overseeing a variety of student focused services for our department. They work closely with the Union’s Associate Director to develop and implement ongoing co-curricular opportunities and operational procedures for those services.
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to student service functions of the Union’s internal and external customer service, staffing, and financial management operations pertaining to areas including (but not limited to) Union Recreation, Union Services Desk, Union Building Managers, Union Fellowships, & Union Scholarships.
The Student Union is a department within the division of Student Affairs. Student Affairs is comprised of over 20 departments and is focused on supporting student well-being and success with the ultimate goal of assisting students in discovering their passion, people, and purpose. To that end, we aim to foster an environment that encourages employees to embrace innovative service delivery methods to best meet the needs of our students. The department may choose to hire at any of the below job levels and associated pay rates based on their business need and budget.Responsibilities | Supervises the Student Area Leaders of the Union Recreation Desk, Services Desk, & Building Managers. Oversees the student service areas of the Union Recreation Desk, Services Desk, & Building Managers. Oversees the Union Fellowship Program. Oversees student scholarship applications and the scholarship application review process. Implement trainings and co-curricular activities for student services. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships. Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through. Forecasts, develops, and implements policies and procedures in the areas of customer service, staff management and co-curricular training goals and objectives that are consistent with University of Utah’s policies. Ensures competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through ongoing staff performance evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications |
