Advertising/Posting Title  | Outreach and Operations Director, Office of Primary Care
Posting Summary  | Provide direct day-to-day administration and operations of the UVM Larner College of Medicine (LCOM) Office of Primary Care (OPC) and its programs, including the statewide Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program. Facilitate funding, programs, events, and other cultivation strategies focused to influence, define and support state healthcare workforce, primary care, and community health goals. Design and implement strategies for advancing the mission of AHEC and the priorities of the OPC through effective collaboration between UVM and the two community-based regional AHECs in St. Johnsbury and Springfield and their boards of directors. Work with the Associate Dean for Primary Care and the AHEC staff and boards of directors to ensure, via short-and long-term planning and program evaluation, sustainability of regional AHECs and that programs are managed efficiently and effectively within the capacity of available resources. Identify research funding opportunities and write/submit grants. Opportunities include serving as principal investigator/lead/co-investigator or other role on health workforce research, planning, and development projects, including quality improvement initiatives in Vermont primary care practices.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)  | Master’s degree and three to five years of related experience in program management and fund development required.A track record of program management and fund development.Experience with complex multi-funded projects (and varying fiscal years) and understanding of legislative processes.A demonstrated commitment to thoughtful and efficient resource allocation, including personnel assignments.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including extensive knowledge of Excel.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.A commitment to cultural and ethnic diversity.A commitment to serving Vermonters, including the underserved.Desirable qualifications are:An understanding of education financing/student loan programs.Sustained engagement in health care policy and workforce issues.Understanding of 501 c-3 organizations and experience working with boards of directors.

Anticipated Pay Range  | $110,000-$120,000
Other Information  | Regular participation in evening meetings (average of one per week) and regular, year around, travel throughout Vermont required. Ability to provide one’s own transportation required. Occasional travel to out-of-state meetings or conferences required.
Special Conditions  | External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Travel to and from worksites required, Background Check required for this position
