The Position  | San Diego City College, the region’s leading college of social justice, is recruiting a highly motivated educator who demonstrates a commitment to equity in action to serve as Outreach Coordinator.Under the guidance of the Director of Promise and Outreach, the Outreach Coordinator provides leadership for the Outreach and the Welcome Center, overseeing operations and supporting department initiatives that advance student access, equity, and success.

This is a 40-hour per week, full-time position located in the Outreach and Community Relations department at San Diego City College. The regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; however, the selected candidate must be willing to adjust workdays and hours—including evenings and weekends—based on department and college needs.
Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications  | Demonstrated commitment to equity in action and social justice through outreach, recruitment, or student support initiatives that reduce barriers and close opportunity gaps. Experience developing and implementing outreach and recruitment strategies with K–12 districts, community organizations, and faith- or nonprofit-based partners. Knowledge of college enrollment, matriculation, and transfer processes, including application, orientation, assessment, financial aid, and student support services. Familiarity with California Community College mission, Vision 2030, SEA initiatives, and trends impacting access, equity, and student success. Skills in planning and executing campus-wide events, workshops, and presentations, including collaboration with multiple departments and community stakeholders. Strong ability to collect, analyze, and report data to measure outreach effectiveness, inform strategies, and demonstrate impact. Experience with advertising, marketing, and communication strategies to engage prospective students and families across diverse communities. Knowledge of budget development and resource management in support of outreach and student services. Proficiency in computer systems and software, including student information systems, spreadsheets, databases, and online testing platforms. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate staff and student workers in alignment with collective bargaining agreements (CBA). Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to students, families, and community partners. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse populations, including disproportionately impacted groups, and provide culturally responsive services. Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel between District locations and community sites.
