JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) in the College of Arts and Architecture (University Park, PA) is looking to fill a vacancy in the Arts Marketing Collective (AMC), a team of undergraduate students interested in working in the field of arts/events marketing and communications.
For the Spring 2026 semester we are in need of a Part time Social Media and Digital Advertising Associate.
Each student in the AMC is supervised by the Director of Marketing and receives one-on-one mentoring by a specialist on our team of professionals working to build audiences for a wide variety of arts experiences.
If hired, you will join students working in a variety of roles from public relations and project management to graphic design, photography and video production.
The position pays $18/hour and can be offered as an official paid internship for academic credit, or strictly as a part-time wage position.
Job Duties Social Media/Digital Advertising-
- Assist with content creation for social media with a focus on short-form video.
- Identify trends and grow audience interaction.
- Assist in promoting performances and engagement events to build community.
- Serve as the CPA Brand Ambassador and influencer to gain campus and community exposure for the Center for the Performing Arts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications-
- Current Penn State Student.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Passion for the Arts.
- Experience using Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- Familiarity with Copywriting, design, video editing.
- Proven experience with social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
- Ability to work on recording video projects independently once assigned.
- Candidates should have strong communication skills and a willingness to work with peers and staff to effectively build community through the arts.
The selected candidates will work alongside seasoned professionals, developing capacity for leadership and gaining meaningful work experiences to document on a resume and in a professional portfolio. In person or hybrid work assignments. 8-10 hours per week.
