Job Summary | The Personal Computing Specialist IV maintains and specializes technical support services for staff and contractor personal computing hardware, software, and technology peripherals. Responsible for support of numerous classrooms including hardware, software, and peripherals. Possesses expertise and has experience and able to execute solutions for complex problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities | Oversee daily operations and manage staffing and on call rotations for Extension and Extended Campus (EEC) Personal Computing Specialist (PCS) positions. Maintain and support the division’s website and registration database system, and related reporting tools. Install, setup, and configure standard hardware and software and assist with support of hardware and software to meet client needs. Assist, and prioritize, EEC clients use of software and personal computing technology for the business unit. Assist with research and evaluation of personal computing technologies. Diagnose and perform intermediate to advanced software and hardware repairs. Organize and produce documents for EEC leadership related to technology standards, services, procedures, and inventories. Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications | Four (4) years of course work towards degree in computer-related field, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Three (3) years of practical work experience in computer-related field. Knowledge of and/or experience with an extensive variety of computer hardware, networking, software, and peripherals or the equivalent experience including applications based on Windows Server, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree. Ten (10 ) year’s experience supporting applications based on Windows Server, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ColdFusion. Experience supporting PC hardware, software, and peripherals. IT certifications and UT Arlington experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Excellent communication skills. Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint. Ability to Troubleshoot mobile device software such as iOS, Android, and Blackberry. Extensive knowledge of various Operating Systems such as Windows, Windows Servers, and MacOSX. Extensive Knowledge of Computer Hardware Troubleshooting. Understanding of basic LAN Networking environments. Configure and Maintain Web Hosting Environment. Inventory tracking. Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
