Job Summary
The primary purpose of the full time Placement and Assessment Specialist is to provide administrative and testing support to the Workforce Solutions Assessment Center (on or off campus locations as needed).

Job Duties:
1. Provide prompt customer service to college departments, individuals, and businesses with assessment goals or requirements.
2. Schedule, proctor, and troubleshoot assessments to meet college, community, and business needs according to exam vendor specifications at campus and off-site locations as necessary.
3. Coordinate with Adult Education staff to meet GED testing needs.
4. Maintain secure and accurate documentation of assessments according to exam vendor specifications and KCTCS guidelines.
5. Generate enrollment reports, testing schedules, and any other requested reports for Vice President for Workforce Development or Workforce Development Director.
6. Provide billing information to Financial Specialist II for proper invoicing.
7. Identify regional workforce assessment needs, research potential assessments, and expand assessment options appropriately.
8. Participate in community committees and workforce-related projects.
9. Assist with college programs/events and contribute to the success of the Workforce Solutions department by being an active department team player.
10. Attend department or unit meetings as needed.
11. Other duties as assigned by Workforce Development Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor degree (Business Administration, Education, Management, Student Affairs, Counseling or related field) and two years related experience, or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including pleasant personality and the ability to professionally interact with the public in person, by phone and in written correspondence.
3. Self-motivated to take initiative, meet deadlines and accomplish tasks with little direct supervision in a steady work environment.
4. Organized with excellent time management skills to efficiently coordinate multiple assessment platforms and multiple testing sites.
5. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and student database management (i.e., PeopleSoft).
6. Ability to maintain a positive testing environment and respond professionally to assessment center issues and concerns.
7. Discretion in handling confidential materials related to assessments.
