Position Purpose:
The PMO (Project Management Office) Director will oversee the project management function within the company, ensuring that all projects align with the company's strategic goals and are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The PMO Director will lead a team of project managers and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement PMO strategies, methodologies, and standards to ensure effective project delivery.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Resource and Budget Management: Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success and optimize team performance. Maintain and report portfolio budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners to align project goals with business objectives.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive problem-solving and issue resolution.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress and success.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and best practices within the PMO to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP or similar certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the education or publishing industry.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. Skilled in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid development processes.
- Attributes: Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Collaborative and adaptable to change.
Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000
*The base salary range represents the low and high end of the expected salary range for the position. The base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
