Post Production Center Manager Full Description

Position Summary: Manage day-to-day operations of Post Production area for for Tisch School of the Arts: develop and implement operational and creative policies and practices to ensure student productions run smoothly and successfully and that the safety and security of faculty, students, facilities, and equipment is realized. Design and conduct technical workshops and seminars in response to and adapted to meet faculty and students' needs; ensure training is consistent with established industry and School curricular standards and related film technologies. Advise students on productions; serve as resource expert recommending production options to students and resolving complex problems. Supervise full- and part-time technical support and student employees. Qualifications: Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Film and Television

Required Experience:
2+ years film or video production facility operations management, budget administration and staff supervision experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic and/or post production environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Ability to communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels and use problem solving and negotiating skills. Proficiency with a wide range of post production technologies and effects software including Steenbeck editing machines, Avid digital non-linear, Final Cut Pro, Protools digital sound editing , Video transfer/dubbing stations, Sound transfer stations, film to tape film chain, Betacam SP editing systems, 1 Recording studio, ADR studio, Foley studio, Mix studio, New Media labs (Apple G5's w/multiple applications), Animation/Frame and Sequence lab with Apple G5's with multiple applications, Edit Workshop lab (Avid Xpress systems). Ability to direct, evaluate and implement a variety of operations and activities.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of current and emerging technologies (e.g., digital and analog film and television technologies).
Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $85,250.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
