Job Summary:
 | An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by providing individualized support to participating grant program students to ensure successful transition to high school, graduation from high school, and transition to their selected post-secondary opportunities. Work is distinguished by the ability to manage a caseload for specific middle and/or high schools in the ECC district 509 service area, serving low-income and first-generation students. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 |  Associates degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.Aptitude and interest in working with middle school and high school students and families.Passion for working with students in identifying and preparing for their post-high school opportunities, especially low-income and first-generation college students.Lived experience overcoming barriers similar to the target population to be served.Considerable skill in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access and PublisherConsiderable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Considerable skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds both internally and with external partners.Working skills in verbal and written communication, in both English and Spanish.Working skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

 Essential Duties:
 | Recruit students from designated middle school and/or high schools who meet the grant requirements. Outreach requires extensive phone calls, video calls, and chats with students/guardians as well as with designated school contacts. Document outreach efforts.Assist Manager with implementation of events and activities to support students and families. Outreach to ensure student/family participation in planned events and activities. Document student participation and contact.Maintain regular contact with assigned students to provide necessary support and additional resources. Document student contacts/outreach and student participation in support services.Regularly use school provided data to monitor student progress. Use data to create individualized support plan for each student that meets the program services outlined in the grant application. Adapt student supports and/or interventions to ensure students meet grant objectives.Maintains required training, licensure and/or certificationsMaintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy lawsDemonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
