Position Overview

This role is a critical member of the Product Technology organization and is responsible for facilitating the continuous delivery of value to customers.  This position is highly collaborative and requires coordination with development teams, technical leadership and product/business leadership. Primary responsibilities include facilitating planning events, coordinating cross-domain dependencies, cross organization dependencies, mentoring and coaching others, acting as an Agile Coach and ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date on delivery progress.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Optimizes the flow of work across multiple agile teams throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Motivates and enables others to take accountability to streamline product delivery process, efficiently manage large and complex product launches across multiple teams.
  • Nurtures a culture of trust, transparency and accountability within and across teams through clear, repeatable, and measurable processes.
  • Leverages data and metrics to derive insights and continuously identify improvement opportunities. Drive these improvement opportunities to fruition.
  • Be the champion of Agile Software Product development processes within a Value Stream and mentor Product Owners and Engineers to follow agile practices.
  • Operates as a “player/coach”, leading by example and actively seeking opportunities to address pain points for internal stakeholders. This includes understanding the problem space, designing a solution, and prioritizing the work based on the value, impact, and effort.​
  • Serves all members of the Product Technology organization responsible for developing and delivering our products by:
    • Responding to internal and external inquiries in a timely fashion​
    • Proposing and implementing process improvements
    • Anticipating and removing blockers​
    • Coordinating communication within and across groups
    • Understanding commitments, targets, scope, investment, milestones, velocity, and capacity to forecast delivery timelines​.
    • Manages complex program workstreams that impact multiple product teams, proactively surfacing risks and driving decisions in partnership with engineering, product management, operations, business stakeholders, vendor partners and other groups to deliver successful business outcomes
    • Facilitates Scrum of Scrums and other working sessions as needed for smooth team collaboration within cross-functional efforts.
    • Ensuring a comprehensive view of the team's work is documented and tracked.
    • Proposes and implements process improvements and operational frameworks that enable the scrum team to reach their potential while satisfying business obligations and supporting organizational goals.
    • Creates and manages information radiators that surface planned work, communicate progress, and support internal stakeholder needs.
    • Manages/leads/mentors other Program Managers and Project Managers to provide the above across a collection of Domains/Programs.

  • Clearly define deliverables to set expectations, plan work, and allocate budget and resources within and across teams.
  • Maintain a transparent delivery process to ensure stakeholders can monitor progress.

 Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in a technical discipline, advanced degree strongly preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on technical project/program management experience implementing customer-facing technology solutions, with minimum 3 years in senior roles with demonstrable growth in scope and complexity of the roles filled; working with senior leadership.
  • Subject matter expertise in Agile/Scrum software development processes and practices working across large groups with multiple scrum teams working in multiple domains.
  • Strong experience with software solutions for managing product roadmap planning and software issue tracking (JIRA, Aha!, etc).
  • Driven collaborative mindset that will push through barriers in the face of ambiguous situations.
  • Continuous learner, able to adapt quickly to new processes and tools in a challenging and high-growth environment.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and desire for excellence around leading teams by example, building products, supporting development, and scaling a business.
  • Tenacious problem solver able to make routine decisions as well as sound complex analysis in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Powerful communicator, in both verbal and written form, able to articulate concepts and ideas, break through barriers, engage people, and work effectively with others under pressure.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with business and technology stakeholders, including executives, engineers, architects, operations, security, etc.
  • Capable of planning and executing on both short-term and long-term goals individually and with the team. Able to incorporate strategic objectives, commitments, and day-to-day tasks seamlessly.
