Job Overview
The Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF) is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient development and delivery of training programs for administrators, teachers, and support staff. This role aligns all professional development (PD) initiatives with MagicSchool goals and promotes student achievement through rigorous PD sessions.

PLFs customize and deliver high-quality PD sessions, collaborating with educators and administrators to enhance instructional practices and improve student outcomes. They oversee the development and delivery of MagicSchool's PD programs, working closely with the Professional Development Team to design new content and update existing resources.

Professional Learning Facilitators are committing to 1-20 hours, weekly, which may require some travel. MagicSchool is dedicated to building a diverse team of contractors representing various regions and a range of teaching certifications and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Content Development:
  • Assist in and deliver in-person and virtual MagicSchool PD sessions.
  • Support the development of instructional materials, including lesson plans and multimedia resources that align with educational goals.
  • Attend (up to) twice a month MagicSchool contractors’ meetings.
  • Attend MagicSchool Academy and Pioneer meeting sessions.
  • Apply instructional design models to create content that meets learning objectives and engages educators in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Adapt content for various learning formats such as videos, interactive activities, and quizzes.
  • Gather feedback from teachers and team members to improve instructional resources continuously.
Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs):
  • Work alongside subject matter experts to develop accurate and user-friendly content for K-12 educators.
  • Help translate complex subject matter into engaging learning modules that meet educators' needs.
Content Curation & Revision:
  • Assist in revising and updating existing content based on feedback and learning outcomes.
  • Research and curate external resources to complement platform content.
Logistics:
  • Send a PD confirmation email and calendar invite to partners.
  • Help maintain and organize PD presentations and travel documents.
  • Enter PD session information in the SFDC after each session.
  • Complete pre- and post in-person visit memos.
Innovation in Learning Technologies:
  • Explore and incorporate new educational technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Stay updated on trends in edtech and instructional tools to support content offerings.

Qualifications
Required Experience:

Preferred Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in leading professional development, technical trainings, or curriculum development
  • Multilingual presenters (verbally and in writing)
  • Familiarity with designing content for diverse learner populations

Key Skills:
  • Advanced/expert MagicSchool user (staff and student tools)
  • Advanced experience in using educational technology tools as well as online learning platforms and meeting spaces
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and impeccable communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with educators
  • Basic understanding of instructional design principles and adult/student learning theories
