About the role:
Our client, a fast-growing EdTech company, is seeking an experienced Professional Learning Solutions Director who drives the strategic design and execution of professional learning initiatives across a designated region, content area, or strategic account. This leader ensures alignment with organizational goals, budget parameters, and market outcomes while cultivating a high-performing team. The Director sets strategic goals, manages staff performance, and ensures alignment with broader organizational objectives. They oversee professional learning delivery, monitor quality and efficacy, and adapt plans based on customer feedback to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the Director manages all financial aspects of professional learning programs—including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting—while maintaining revenue targets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Select, manage, and optimize use of full-time and part-time staff to build a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with peers to align team strategies with overall professional learning objectives and organizational goals.
- Plan, recommend, and oversee delivery schedules to ensure high-quality, relevant professional learning sessions.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the professional learning content area; identify efficiencies while maintaining service quality.
- Utilize training, certification, and coaching resources to support staff growth and effectiveness.
- Coordinate staffing assignments and delivery schedules to achieve revenue targets while optimizing costs.
- Analyze data (CRM and performance metrics) to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to design and implement professional learning solutions for new and existing clients.
- Facilitate the creation and execution of multi-year professional learning plans that drive measurable impact.
- Lead by sharing best practices, strategies, and content expertise with the team.
- Deliver sessions directly when needed, holding certification in at least one product or solution area.
- Stay current with trends, research, and best practices in STEM professional learning to inform strategy and offerings.
- Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel (including overnight).
- Other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for candidates with the following background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or Science required; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 7 years of educational experience, including 5+ years teaching mathematics and/or science and 3+ years in leadership roles (or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience).
- Deep knowledge and experience with problem-based learning as a key instructional approach in STEM education.
- Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Track record of delivering high-quality professional learning and supporting curriculum implementation.
- Strong understanding of instructional coaching and district-level professional learning needs.
- Familiarity with technology integration and best practices in pedagogy and curriculum adoption.
- Experience collaborating with school districts and educational stakeholders to drive implementation success.
- Skilled communicator with excellent facilitation, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, balancing multiple priorities.
- Background in partnering with Sales teams to support revenue growth preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom/Teams, and cloud-based tools.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms (preferred).
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%, including overnight.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Fingerprint clearance (or equivalent background check) required within 7 days of hire
