Job Description Summary

Organizational Statement:
The Interdisciplinary Business Honors (IBH) Program is a two-year living-learning program that is a partnership between the Robert H. Smith School of Business and the University of Maryland's Honors College. Designed for exceptional students of all majors who wish to explore business connections across disciplines and think about the role of business in the world, IBH welcomed its first cohort in Fall 2022 and will welcome Cohort 4 in Fall 2025.

The IBH Program Coordinator leads retention and engagement efforts for IBH students, including coordinating daily operations, planning extracurricular events, orientations, and student communications, advising students and student organizations, and providing support to the program staff and faculty as needed. Some evening and weekend work is required. The Program Coordinator reports to the IBH Associate Director.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift 10 Lbs.

Preferences:
Two years of experience working with students in a role related to student retention, student advising, and/student programming
Masters degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field preferred
Background in advising, student programming, and/or program administration
Experience with students from diverse backgrounds

License/Certification: N/A

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional program, outreach, or event coordination experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of outreach and marketing strategies. Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
