Description | Reporting to the Assistant Director for Clinical Experiences, the Program Coordinator works with the Office of Clinical Experiences staff, assistant deans, educational data and analytics staff, course and clerkship directors, faculty, and other program coordinators to plan and implement student schedules and clerkship components, ensuring that specified curriculum and educational requirements are met. The Program Coordinator prepares course/clerkship schedules including planning, organizing, and evaluating program activities. The Program Coordinator works on a dynamic and cooperative team that supports the Zucker School of Medicine (ZSOM) with its goal of offering an innovative and fully integrated curriculum. Curricular areas assigned to this position include: third-year core clerkships and fourth year acting internships and electives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborates with clerkship, acting internship, and selective/elective directors to plan, implement, and evaluate the Second 100 Weeks/Clinical Experiences educational program in alignment with the mission and goals of the Zucker School of Medicine (ZSOM). Provides comprehensive administrative support for faculty, including managing correspondence, coordinating meetings, maintaining records, tracking tasks, and supporting educational technology. Prepares and updates program documentation, including schedules, reports, manuals, meeting materials/agendas, and other resources related to course and clerkship components. Coordinates student sessions and faculty meetings related to assigned courses and clerkships. Prepares and supports the administration of assessment and evaluation processes; collaborates with the Educational Data and Analytics team to disseminate student and faculty performance data to relevant directors. Identifies and monitors program needs, issues, and follow-up tasks to support both short- and long-term planning. Assists deans, directors, faculty, and program staff with course/clerkship-related projects, research initiatives, and other assigned activities. Provides additional support on special projects and initiatives, as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree required. 1 – 2 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in an education or health care setting. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Customer-service oriented and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage and track multiple active elements of the program simultaneously. Demonstrates a high degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Ability to work in a highly trafficked office environment. Ability to lift and/or transport up to 15 pounds for class, as needed. Must be able to provide their own transportation to and from off-site meetings. Early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required during busy periods. Must have extensive computing experience and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Salary/Salary Range | $59,000 - $63,500

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
