General Job Description
This is a professional position responsible for assisting with creation and implementation of various marketing plans associated with athletic teams. Responsible for assembling and executing revenue enhancement opportunities for the department. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs.
Essential Job Functions
1. Assists with creation of detailed marketing/promotion plans for all ticketed sports with an aggressive focus on improving attendance and revenue as well as creating a memorable game day experience for fans.
2. Works with the external affairs team to implement marketing plans.
3. Assists with ticket sales and ticketing products to include single game, season tickets, and group sales.
4. Contributes to design concepts and implements marketing collateral, working with the strategic communications unit on the overall brand for the department.
5. Serves as the liaison to the College of Business’ sales class and oversees the incorporation of the students into marketing efforts.
6. Works jointly with designated members of the external affairs team and Learfield/Lumberjack Sports Properties contact to ensure all sponsorship activation elements are fulfilled accordingly.
Non-Essential Job Functions
1. Adheres to all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), conference, and university rules and regulations.
2. Attends university, conference, NCAA, and other organizational meetings as assigned.
3. Participates on university committees and task forces as assigned.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
1. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, university policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the conference and the NCAA.
3. Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies typically used in intercollegiate athletics.
4. Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
5. Organizational skills in managing projects simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product.
6. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
7. Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
8. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
9. Ability to maintain currency of knowledge and skills related to area of responsibility.
10. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Physical Demands
Required Education | Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, sports management/marketing, or a related field is required.
Required Experience and Training | Two years of related experience is required. Experience in marketing at the intercollegiate athletics level is required. Additional education may substitute for experience on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.

This position is eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
