Job Description:
Salary: $65,000 per year
Under the direction of the Associate Director within the office of Career Services, the Program Manager is part of the One University Model that provides leadership, strategic direction, and support for employer engagement. The Program Manager utilizes strong attention to detail and superior organization skills to manage a team of staff who work to create and organize multiple ways for employers, alumni, family and community members to engage with ASU students in various modalities.

The successful candidate must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; the successful candidate must possess the skills to manage competing priorities and design strategic efforts while collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  This role will work closely with the ASU staff and faculty, students and student groups, alumni, families, and employers.

Essential Duties:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, timelines, resources, and budget.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring all members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure expenditures align with financial plans.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and are completed on schedule.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate project performance and implement improvements for future projects.
  • Oversight of large-scale events hosted by ASU Career Services, including University wide Career and Internship fairs.
  • Work collaboratively with staff at all Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, and West Valley campus locations to ensure success of their local career fairs and employer events.  
  • Responsible for tracking revenue and expenses related to large-scale career events.
  • Oversee marketing and communications for employers, students, and families related to career fairs and large employer events.
  • Supervision of events coordinator.
  • Work collaboratively with employers, alumni and families to deliver career readiness and development to students through various programs (examples: job shadow, site visits, panels and presentations, tabling opportunities, etc).
  • Use creative and critical thinking to scale innovative opportunities to enhance employer, alumni, and family engagement in student career development, both in-person and online.
  • Engage with employers, alumni, families, faculty, staff and students at events and programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including employers, students, university leadership, alumni, and families.
  • Supervision of both full- time professional staff, and part-time student staff employees.
  • Supports department or university-wide initiatives related to improving effective delivery of service to students
  • Participate in a variety of working groups related to Career Services, and Educational Outreach and Student Services.
  • Participate in various events outside of the day-to-day responsibilities of Career Services to support the success of students and alumni. These can include freshman move-in, networking mixers, football games, fall welcome activities, etc.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Evidence of a Master's Degree in a related area.
  • Experience working in higher education. 
  • Strong background in managing projects with the ability to communicate with high-level administration and external constituents.
  • Experience analyzing data to make strategic decisions.
  • Experience using data to develop monthly and annual reports.
  • Experience cultivating strategic relationships and partnerships between the university and outside organizations.
  • Knowledge of exemplary customer service principles demonstrated through active listening; acknowledging and responding to every inquiry; taking ownership and resolving each concern or problem as appropriate; exhibiting professionalism and expertise in every interaction; and engaging in professional development to meet expectations for service excellence.
  • Skills in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
  • Skills in managing multiple priorities.    
  • Experience working with diverse individuals across various expertise areas to accomplish core goals.
