The Program Manager at Chandler Endeavor drives the growth of scalable, high-potential ventures through ASU Edson E+I's hyper-inclusive incubation model. This role requires firsthand entrepreneurial experience, having launched and scaled a venture, as well as the ability to build strong partnerships with community organizations, mentors, and industry leaders. The Program Manager uses project management skills to ensure effective program delivery, while gathering and analyzing data to refine resources, programming, and outcomes. The successful candidate will apply proven incubation strategies, communicate them clearly to diverse audiences, and manage relationships across the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. This role is also an opportunity to leverage a tested model for deep local impact, to position Chandler as a global hub for entrepreneurship while giving back to ventures in the community.
Please note that this is a grant-funded position and is contingent on future grant funding
Essential Duties:
Strategic & Entrepreneurial Leadership (15%)
- Leverage personal entrepreneurial experience and knowledge of incubation best practices to engage with founders, assess their stage of development, and connect them to the most relevant incubator resources—such as mentors, programs, and support services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ventures in the Chandler Endeavor incubator, maintaining consistent communication and engagement.
- Strategically develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, industry partners, and university stakeholders to advance program goals.
- Understand and articulate Edson E+I's incubation model and industry best practices to ventures, partners, and mentors in ways that are relevant and accessible.
- Lead engagement by building relationships with ventures and partners, moving them into appropriate incubator resources, and curating connections to mentors and support services—while not serving as the direct technical advisor or mentor.
- Gather, analyze, and communicate data to inform program improvements, resource development, and reporting.
Managerial & Ecosystem Engagement (10%)
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive culture that fosters belonging and collaboration within the incubator and broader ecosystem.
- Mobilize and coordinate the Edson E+I team to ensure efficient execution of program activities, shifting away from reliance on a single Program Coordinator.
- Build relationships across Edson E+I teams and ASU departments to align program objectives with institute and university priorities.
Program Management & Implementation (70%)
- Design and deliver programming in alignment with Edson E+I's incubation model, setting the vision and directly implementing activities that meet the needs of ventures and partners
- Lead projects from concept to completion, managing timelines, deliverables, and budgets while also executing tasks and ensuring accountability across the Edson E+I team and collaborators.
- Partner with the Edson E+I team—including the Program Coordinator, mentors, and staff—to execute program components such as events, founder meetups, prototyping support, and educational programming.
- Collaborate with mentors, partners, and the Edson E+I Leadership to align resources with venture needs.
- Guide the design of outreach campaigns to attract ventures, mentors, and community partners into the program, executed in partnership with the wider Edson E+I team.
- Ensure program activities align with evidence-based incubation practices and contribute to a thriving local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Collect, synthesize, and report both qualitative and quantitative data into meaningful narratives for stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities (5%)
- Represent ASU Edson E+I and Chandler Endeavor at community events, partner meetings, and university committees as assigned.
- Provide support to other ASU or community initiatives that align with Edson E+I's mission and goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Performance & Professional Development Framework
- This position will be evaluated and supported through Edson E+I's structured Check-In process, which emphasizes professional accountability, team contribution, and institute impact. The Program Manager's responsibilities outlined above will be measured against the following categories to ensure alignment with Edson E+I's culture and priorities:
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Applying initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving to design and deliver programming that supports venture success.
- Flexibility & Stretch Work: Demonstrating reliability and willingness to take on stretch assignments across Chandler Endeavor, Edson E+I, and community partners.
- Team Culture & Collegiality: Contributing to a positive, inclusive culture by supporting colleagues, mentoring peers, and showing up to collective efforts such as events and ecosystem engagement.
- Cross-Institute Collaboration: Building partnerships and sharing knowledge across Edson E+I and ASU units to ensure programmatic alignment and maximize ecosystem impact.
- Innovation & Risk-Taking: Designing and testing bold new approaches to incubation, gathering data, and sharing learnings to inform future models.
- Professionalism & Accountability: Owning deliverables, proactively communicating progress and challenges, and consistently modeling reliability in program operations.
- Inclusivity & Emotional Intelligence: Ensuring that Chandler Endeavor reflects Edson E+I's hyper-inclusive incubation model, fostering belonging, empathy, and equity for all ventures.
Desired Qualifications:
