Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

The Program Manager designs, develops, and is the campus leader on all admissions processes and decisions for dismissed and returning students to the University. The Program Manager establishes the criteria for the evaluation of re-enrollment decisions and the conditions students must complete before returningUniversity manages the office communication with students; manages and analyzes data collection related to re-enrollment to assess program effectiveness. The Program Manager recruits, trains, and evaluates members of the Faculty Petition Board. In coordination with the Offices of Financial Aid, the University Registrar, and the academic colleges, the Program Manager provides leadership to support the retention and graduation success of undergraduate students. The Program Manager designs and implements new professional development programs for campus academic advisors, consults on policy implementation, and works closely with campus units that provide academic support to students, directs the annual advising conference, supervises the SSO/PTA/Pre-Law administrative assistant, and two graduate assistants.


Physical Demand: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional program management or higher education experience.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Additional Job Details

  • Ability to manage an essential campus program and work successfully in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment;

  • Must have the ability to problem solve and work under multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Must be well-organized, able to work independently, and is comfortable with online application processes.
