The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Designs and facilitates training sessions for mentors across various academic programs and service models
- Collaborates with Mentor Operations teams to align training with performance and quality expectations
- Develops and organizes training materials, resources, and certification modules
- Supports ongoing improvement of mentor training through feedback, assessments, and learning analytics
- Stays current with mentoring best practices and translates industry trends into impactful learning experiences
- Partners with Mentor Strategy & Operations leaders to ensure consistent and relevant mentor development
- Participates in team meetings, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills for both virtual and in-person training
- Ability to create inclusive and engaging learning environments
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across diverse populations
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Must maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and WGU policies
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic, remote-first environment
- Ability to provide excellent service to internal stakeholders and learners
- Availability to travel for summits or training retreats (up to 25%).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience
- 3 years of experience in training; experience developing and delivering training involving complex subject matter.
- Experience with CRMs, learning platforms, or learning management systems (LMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, or adult learning
- Certifications in training or coaching (e.g., Prosci, Instructional Design, Trainer Certification)
- Experience designing e-learning content
Physical Requirements:
- Remote work with standard office equipment use
- Occasional travel required (e.g., WGU Summits, mentor retreats)
- Requires prolonged sitting, concentration, and interaction via virtual platforms

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
