Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position. | B.S. AND M.S. in biology, aquatic biology, or closely related field Written work products, such as scientific journal publications and/or presentations, that demonstrate advanced scientific research and writing skills Demonstrated experience preparing successful grant proposals as a PI or in a direct supporting role Ability to analyze scientific data and prepare professional reports Demonstrated experience managing and implementing grant-funded research from public and private sponsors Demonstrated experience conducting field-based research Knowledge of state and federal water policy Knowledge of genomics Lab-based technical skills as applied to aquatic species, such as fish, mussels, or invertebrates
Preferred Qualifications | Advanced ability to conduct lab and field research pertaining to aquatic endangered species Knowledge of “R” for statistical analysis Knowledge of GISKnowledge of SigmaPlot Knowledge of habitat sampling in aquatic environments Knowledge of radio telemetry Ability to do field-based aquatic species identification Demonstrated experience supporting or managing grants from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts
Job Description | Responsible for supporting research and research development
activities at Texas State.
Job Duties | Manage large-scale projects, grants, or contracts in collaboration with outside agencies through peer review recruiting, project documentation, invoices managed and reconciled, project reports, correspondence with external collaborators, reports for external agencies. Support faculty engagement activities through creation of project Teams sites, scheduling and strategizing of team meetings, support for proposals within the person’s subject matter expertise. Analysis of effectiveness of research development activities through data collection, analysis of data, reporting on data related to office activities in support of faculty, including monthly or quarterly reporting on impact of research development activities.
