Job Description
The Director supports the Managing Director, Senior Associate Director, and Associate Director in overseeing the Center of Excellence for Recovery’s project development and management. The Director helps grow and diversify programs aligned to the Center’s mission; coaches and supports Project Directors to deliver on time, on scope, and on budget while meeting reporting and compliance requirements; and directly leads a small number of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with senior Center leadership to identify, scope, and launch initiatives that expand and diversify the program portfolio. Lead or support proposal development and planning with Grant Writers and Project Directors. Provide day‑to‑day oversight of projects and programs with Center leadership, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met. Collaborate with the Director of Grant Operations, Communications Coordinator, Grant Coordinator, and relevant MURC departments. Coach and mentor Project Directors on leadership, project planning and implementation, stakeholder engagement, budget compliance, reporting, and other project management areas. Partner with Project Directors and Evaluators on data collection, analysis, and outcomes reporting; develop clear, actionable insights for internal leaders and funders. Support budget development for new and renewal projects, as well as budget modifications. Cultivate relationships with funders; community, state, and federal partners; and internal teams. Work closely with Center leadership and staff to improve processes. Personally manage a small set of projects (e.g., pilots or strategic initiatives), serving as project lead responsible for goals and objectives, budget, and reporting. Perform other duties as assigned.
This Position is in person with hybrid availability based on supervisor approval.

Salary Range | $80,000 Salary is commensurate with education, experience and internal equity
Required Qualifications
Education | MA or MSW in a behavioral health field (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work, or a closely related field).
Experience | 2–5 years of project management experience. Grant writing experience with demonstrated contributions to competitive proposals (concept notes, narratives, budgets, attachments). Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data (quantitative and/or qualitative) and translating findings into clear reports and presentations for funders and leadership. Training skills: ability to design materials and provide presentations Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to coach/guide project leads or teams in a matrixed environment; shares project management tools and methods. Solid budget skills and comfort with compliance/reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
Education | Licensure/credential relevant to behavioral health.
Experience | Experience with federal, state, and/or local grant compliance and audit‑ready reporting. Familiarity with behavioral health systems, including prevention, treatment, and recovery. Experience with community‑based program delivery and evidence‑based practices/strategies. Experience working with state and federal partners.
