About the Position
Digital Promise is seeking a Project Director, Learning Communities: Collaboratives for the Strategic Partnerships and Community team. Our work brings together diverse educators, researchers, and product developers to co-design, implement, and advance more effective and equitable edtech resources and experiences.
Reporting to the Director, Learning Communities, the Project Director, Learning Collaboratives will be charged with co-developing and executing the community strategy and roadmap while tending to the day-to-day community operations and administration. This position serves as the direct contact for the national community networks strategy. Collaboration with cross-functional leadership will be key to achieving the goals outlined in the overall learner-centered experiences strategy.
Responsibilities
Overall
- Create and scale a professional learning community featuring in-person and digital events
- Co-develop and manage community management plan in coordination with Project Directors
- Collaborate cross-team to develop and maintain an annual community calendar of in-person and virtual events aligned to learning experiences, in-person events, etc.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends to benchmark, understand, and create a best-in-class inclusive community event implementation
- Continuously gather feedback to shape community event management practices and product/project ideation
- Identify themes, problems, or opportunities in the community events and set up a process to share with the internal stakeholders to take action
- Create regular community event reports to inform the team and use data to drive insights and translate these insights into growing and improving the community
- Collaborate across teams to develop content strategies and facilitate content design matrix creation by contributors and subject matter experts
- Coordinate with other Project Director(s) to coordinate learner journey maps
- Represent the voice of the community, audit internal community participation through usage analytics reporting and feedback to provide updates and recommendations to leadership
- Recruit, motivate and inspire internal stakeholders to become active contributors to the community events and network
- Provide ongoing facilitation to connect and guide community members to create a vibrant and engaging community
- Design Employee Engagement programs (like an annual Career Day) and facilitate schools as they sign up and take part in Employee Engagement events; communicate with external counterpoints, leverage established portals and processes, and report on activity quarterly
Reporting
- Identify and track key performance indicators related to content that measure progress toward the achievement of initiative goals and elements of success
- Support in the collection of data and generating of reports on the progress of leaders, coaches, schools, etc.
- Provide vital insights and reporting across the program for Verizon, Digital Promise, school leadership, and programming
- Assist with measuring the return on investment of learning and development
Initiative Implementation
- Work with peers to plan and host virtual and in-person convenings for school leaders, teachers, and students
- Connect with colleagues in other Digital Promise initiatives to share best practices
- Think, work, and plan sequentially toward initiative outcomes, constantly managing multiple deadlines and needs of different stakeholders
- Conduct on-site visits as needed

Project Management
- Able to manage multiple competing priorities and rapidly adapt and respond to district and school requests and timeline changes
- Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail, timelines, and quality of work
- Lead projects and the development of standard operating procedures as needed
- Engage in Digital Promise projects that promote and advance digital equity and contribute meaningfully to achieving the organization’s impact goals
- Keep key stakeholders in the loop of key action steps needed to drive the work forward
- Influence and motivate others, building connections, anticipating barriers and inspiring action across various contexts to ensure work objectives are met
- Stays abreast of project milestones, weekly project updates, risks and issues

Qualifications
Education
- A Bachelor's degree or 4-5 years of experience in marketing, business, education, technology, or relevant field of study
Overall
- Experience in the edtech industry is a plus
- Direct professional experience working in K-12 public school districts is preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Knowledge of functions, features, limitations, and practical applications of the technologies available to support student learning experience and program management (i.e., Asana, Microsoft & Google suites, Salesforce, Qualtrics, etc.)
- A thorough understanding of the Digital Equity Framework and competencies and the ability to apply this knowledge to support of schools and districts
Analytical and Data Skills
- Ability to research, analyze, and provide a solution to newly identified issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to be flexible to project situations
Relationship Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of client/partner management
- Highly collaborative, organized, and execution-oriented with strong presentation skills
Communication
- Experience with communication and customer relationship systems such as Slack, Salesforce, and Asana
- Excellent written and oral communication skills appropriate for role, as well as impeccable interpersonal skills
- Skill in applying principles of active listening, such as focusing on what someone is saying, deferring judgment, and responding appropriately
Lifelong Learning
- Skill in acquiring new knowledge through professional development activities for one's self, such as participating in coaching, attending professional conferences, self-directed reading, and monitoring industry trends
- Skill in developing, maintaining, and leveraging networks across a range of people and groups inside and outside the organization, such as influential people and learning and performance experts

Working Conditions
Digital Promise Global is a hybrid organization. The position is primarily working in a remote environment. Employees are expected to travel at least 4 times a year for in-person meetings and the annual staff retreat. Additional travel may be required based on role and responsibilities.

(b) Physical/Sensory Demands Fast-paced working environment. Extensive computer usage and online engagement & communication. Must be willing to build inclusive relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization and external partners.
(c) Special Provisions: Occasional work outside of normal business hours, such as weekends and evenings required.
Compensation
We consider candidate experience and location when determining where a candidate may fall within that range. Digital Promise Global offers a competitive total rewards package including coverage of 85% of health insurance premiums for employee coverage and 75% of health insurance premiums for dependent and family coverage, 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3% 401k employer contribution, 3% employer 401k match, and a flexible work environment.
The full-time salary range for the position is based on geographical regions, with exact salary depending on relevant experience.
California: $125,197 - $136,243
DC Metro Area & NYC: $113,815 - $123,858
National: $$102,434 - $111,472
