Job Description:

The Project Manager independently leads complex technology initiatives that support ASU's Enterprise Technology roadmap and broader university priorities. Projects typically involve multiple departments, cross-functional teams, and moderate-to-high visibility and risk.

Working under general direction, this role exercises independent judgment in planning, coordinating, and executing assigned initiatives. The Project Manager is responsible for defining and managing scope, schedule, and budget tracking; overseeing risk management; and ensuring successful project outcomes. The role ensures alignment with defined objectives, governance standards, and operational requirements while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication.

This position influences project teams and stakeholders without formal supervisory authority and contributes to consistent delivery practices across the Enterprise Technology portfolio.

Position Salary: $82,000.00 per year

Essential Duties:

  • Lead complex technology projects from initiation through closeout.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budget tracking, resource coordination, and dependency management documentation.

  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to ensure delivery within approved scope, timeline, and budget parameters.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues; escalate appropriately in accordance with governance standards.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including technical staff, business stakeholders, product managers, analysts, UX partners, and external vendors.

  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to gather, refine, and validate project requirements and ensure alignment between delivery plans and intended outcomes.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and decision-making sessions to maintain alignment across diverse interests and priorities.

  • Prepare and deliver accurate status reports, dashboards, and communications to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Ensure smooth transition of completed initiatives to operations and support teams.

  • Utilize data, dashboards, and approved AI-enabled tools, including emerging Agentic AI systems, to enhance planning accuracy, automate routine administrative tasks, improve forecasting, and support proactive project monitoring and execution.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management standards and practices within Enterprise Technology.

  • Demonstrated ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
