Project Manager I Full Description

Plan, execute, and administer information technology projects. Plan, initiate, coordinate, and execute traditional and agile information technology projects to meet customer requirements, including scope, schedule, and budget. Troubleshoot and report project risk and execution problems. Escalate to management appropriately and in timely fashion. Manage project performance indicators and recovery actions to meet SLA requirements. Coordinate project planned related customer, engineering staff, and external vendor activities. Ensures effective communication between all project stakeholders. Support the project and technology engineering staff as needed. Support the IS Accounts staff for project related vendor management. Author and submit project documentation and reports. Specialization with Service-Now ITSM toolset for project management. Learn existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services in use at Liberty University. Creatively resolve issues as they are identified. Participate in a mentoring program within assigned Departments as a Mentee, Mentor, or both as experience is gained. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
60 % Create scope and requirements documentation, WBS development, schedule, issue and risk management, all project coordination activities, resource management, and communications. Projects will occasionally span outside of Information Services, requiring excellent customer interaction skills. Duties including project task tracking, project status communication, budget management and vendor relationship management.
30% Assist in creating internal project management standards and best practices.
10 % Product troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
4 year college degree with a concentration in Information Services or Project Management, and 1-2+ years' related work experience. PMI Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) certification required preferred. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
