Project Manager, Urban Future Lab Full Description

Position Summary:

The Project Manager, Urban Future Lab will support the implementation of NYC ACRE and Offshore Wind Innovation Hub programs. They will direct key areas of incubator/accelerator management and tasks: develop RFP material, active recruitment of startup applicants, startup review and analysis, portfolio company advisory, developing and maintaining an external network of stakeholders and investors, support execution of major flagship events, develop curriculum and activities for portfolio companies, and occasional support of all Urban Future Lab programs. Manager must as a minimum be in-person at our Sunset Park location 2 days weekly and 1 day in the Downtown Brooklyn office. This is a 2 year grant funded position.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Required Experience:
5+ years experience with project management and/or entrepreneurship/venture capital and supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience with roles in project/program management, consulting, venture capital, or work experience at a startup, government agency, or energy/utility company. Any work experience related to offshore wind and the New York State CLCPA or DOE policy framework will be seen as a plus. Experience evaluating applications to an incubator or accelerator program, or any experience teaching, coaching, or as a speaker at a conference or panel discussion will also be highly valued. Experience or interest in playing a leadership role is also a plus.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mission driven to reduce carbon emissions. Ability to quickly foster relationships with industry peers and relevant stakeholder groups. Organization and project management skills, with the ability to plan effectively, meet multiple deadlines simultaneously, and coordinate others’ involvement within a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Demonstrate broad systems-level thinking as well as be capable of in-depth analytical thinking. Flexible in assuming other duties as needed.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
