Job Summary  | Conducts prospect research to provide prospect identification, screening, rating, and reporting. Collects data and provides analyzes on giving capability, philanthropic interests, and engagement potential of individuals, corporations, and foundations. Supports Cleveland State University, (CSU) wide efforts by informing cultivation and solicitation strategies that drive major gift support and grow the CSU endowment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree preferably in library and information science, nonprofit management, business administration, finance, accounting, public administration, or related field. Four (4) years of experience in prospect research, fundraising, development, or advancement services. Leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications  | Previous experience in non-profit research in higher education. Capital campaign experience. Advanced knowledge and understanding of the fund-raising process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)  | Knowledge of timely and ethical research strategies and the ability to analyze a wide range of research findings. Knowledge of key industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery. Skilled in relationship management and problem-solving. Ability to be detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information, and be well organized. Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments. Proficient in utilization of current information management and research technologies, including on-line database retrieval, prospect-tracking systems, and the internet. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
