The Senior Quality Engineer Lead provides strategic and technical leadership for quality engineering across multiple product areas, driving the organization's quality strategy, engineering standards, and AI-enabled testing practices. This role develops high-performing engineering leaders and teams, establishes modern testing and automation frameworks, and partners across Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Developer Experience, and Engineering Leadership to integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle. By championing continuous improvement, advancing engineering excellence, and aligning quality initiatives with long-term technology strategy, the Senior Quality Engineer Lead enables the delivery of secure, scalable, reliable, and high-quality software that supports the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
AI-Enabled Quality Engineering & Technical Excellence
- Lead the adoption of AI-assisted testing, intelligent automation, and modern quality engineering practices that improve software quality, testing effectiveness, and engineering productivity across multiple product areas.
- Establish and promote engineering standards for AI-assisted testing, agent orchestration, responsible AI validation, observability, test data management, and software quality.
- Guide engineers in effectively leveraging AI-enabled workflows while maintaining sound engineering judgment, strong testing fundamentals, and high-quality engineering outcomes.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, testing methodologies, and quality engineering practices, leading adoption where they improve organizational effectiveness.
Quality Architecture & Solution Delivery
- Define and execute quality engineering strategies across multiple product areas to ensure reliable, scalable, secure, and high-quality software delivery.
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies that address business objectives, technical risks, architectural dependencies, release readiness, and customer impact.
- Lead complex quality engineering initiatives, automation frameworks, and testing approaches that balance coverage, maintainability, performance, and delivery objectives.
- Ensure quality engineering solutions consistently meet established standards for functionality, security, reliability, performance, and operational readiness.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Establish quality metrics and leverage production data, testing results, customer feedback, and engineering insights to continuously improve testing effectiveness and software quality.
- Drive adoption of shift-left quality practices, continuous integration, intelligent automation, and engineering processes that improve delivery predictability and engineering efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen automation frameworks, testing processes, quality engineering standards, operational excellence, and developer productivity.
- Evaluate emerging testing tools, AI-enabled capabilities, automation technologies, and engineering methodologies to improve organizational quality engineering maturity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Developer Experience, and Engineering Leadership to integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Communicate quality strategy, testing progress, release readiness, quality metrics, and technical risk assessments to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Represent the Quality Engineering organization in architecture reviews, engineering councils, release planning, and cross-functional initiatives while driving alignment across technical disciplines.
- Mentor Quality Engineers and technical leaders through technical coaching, quality reviews, automation guidance, and knowledge sharing while promoting engineering excellence across the organization.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Quality Engineering team by providing regular feedback, performance coaching, career development, and growth opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, psychologically safe, and accountable team culture that promotes continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.
- Support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and succession planning to build a resilient and high-performing Quality Engineering organization.
- Hold the team accountable for quality commitments, release readiness, engineering standards, professional conduct, and continuous improvement while enabling long-term team success.
This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.

Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, software engineering, or technology organizations.
- 5+ years of experience leading Quality Engineering teams, technical leaders, or multiple engineering initiatives.
- Demonstrated success developing quality engineering strategy, organizational standards, and enterprise automation practices.
- Deep expertise in AI-assisted testing, automation architecture, quality metrics, engineering governance, and software delivery.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and engineering operations.
- Proven ability to influence engineering leadership, drive organizational change, and align quality initiatives with business objectives.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience developing engineering leaders, succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational capability.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Experience leading enterprise Quality Engineering organizations in SaaS or technology companies.
- Experience defining enterprise quality strategy, governance, and organizational transformation initiatives.
- Advanced expertise in AI-enabled quality engineering, intelligent automation, engineering analytics, and platform quality.
- Experience participating in technology strategy, architecture governance, or executive planning.
- Advanced leadership, Agile, cloud, AI, or quality engineering certifications.
This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.

110,000.00-135,000.00 plus bonus
