Job Description  | Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate Admissions and Student Recruitment, the Recruiting Specialist strengthens the Whitman School of Management’s graduate-enrollment efforts by helping to implement high-impact outreach for master’s and MBA pipelines, emphasizing domestic students, and supporting the school’s residential and online portfolio of programs. The specialist builds relationships with prospective students and orchestrates virtual and in-person events that move candidates from inquiry to enrollment.

In close collaboration with leadership, Whitman’s Career Center, and student-services teams ensures every applicant receives a seamless, high-touch experience that is best-in-class. Success is measured by inquiry growth, application volume, yield within targeted domestic markets, and the effective integration of online-student recruitment.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum two years of professional experience in graduate admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, or a closely related field (higher education or corporate talent acquisition). Demonstrated systems-administration experience, preferably with a CRM (SLATE preferred) or admissions platform is desirable.
Skills and Knowledge  | Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, multitask under pressure, and exercise sound judgment and confidentiality. Ability to thrive and add value within a dynamic, motivated, and collaborative recruitment team, fostering open communication and collective success. Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and written-communication skills across varied audiences. Strong command of data analysis, MS Excel/Google Sheets, and CRM reporting for segmentation and campaign optimization. Ability to develop strong relationships with prospective students from a variety of backgrounds and levels of prior work experience. Capacity to balance and meet deadlines with accuracy and composure.
Responsibilities  | Engage with inquiries and applicants via email, phone, video, and social media to provide program information, guide them through the admissions process, and strengthen yield. Will require high levels of responsiveness and customer orientation. Cultivate prospective-student pipelines by coordinating and hosting on-campus, virtual, and regional recruitment events. Represent Whitman at select regional graduate fairs and industry conferences across the U.S. Will require thoughtful development of achieving appropriate messaging given varying prospective student groups and stage of applications. Track key performance indicators lead generation, application progression, and admit-to-enroll conversion. Attention to detail and accuracy. Coordinate faculty, alumni, and current-student involvement in recruitment initiatives (e.g., webinars, ambassador chats) to showcase Whitman’s community and career outcomes. Stay current on market trends, competitor tactics, and best practices, recommending continuous improvements to Whitman’s domestic recruitment strategy. Involves independent research and synergizing data from a variety of data sources.
