Job Description  | The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students and to promote Texas State in the Central Texas area. The Regional Manager for Central Texas participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in Central Texas and on campus.

The Regional Manager supervises the team of Admissions Counselors who serve the Central Texas Area. Duties for this position include the hiring and training of staff, as well as regular individual and team meetings. The Regional Manager is expected to oversee the recruitment activities of the Central Texas team and to provide continuous mentoring and support for their staff.

Expected activities include but are not limited to visits to high schools and community colleges, presentations, admissions events, and communication with students, parents, and counselors.

The Regional Manager position requires at least three years of professional college admissions experience, excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.

The Regional Manager – Central Texas must reside in the Central Texas area.
Job Duties  | Responsibilities for the Central Texas area Regional Manager include supervising the team of admissions counselors in the area, hiring and training of staff, holding regular individual and team meetings, mentoring and support of the team, as well as overseeing the recruitment activities for the Central Texas area.

The Regional Manager’s activities also include identifying, recruiting, and enrolling prospective students through extensive travel to Texas high schools and two-year colleges; counseling prospective students and families in the college selection process; having extensive contact and collaboration with high school and community college students, high school counselors, college advisors, university alumni and other organizations; evaluating academic credentials; communicating admission decisions; preparing correspondence and statistical reports; assisting faculty and other departments in recruitment efforts; and other duties as assigned. Some evening, overnight, weekend work is required. Must reside in the Central Texas area.

The Regional Manager supervises the area team of admissions counselors, hires and trains staff, holds regular individual and team meetings, mentors and supports the counseling team, and oversees the recruitment activities for the assigned territory. The Regional Manager visits high schools and two-year colleges to recruit academically gifted students for the university and provides counseling to students and parents. Schedule and conduct regular visits to high schools and community colleges in Texas to identify and recruit academically talented students. Provide counseling to students and parents on the university’s admission requirements and procedures. Assist prospective students in the college selection process and explain higher education admission policies. Plan, facilitate, and evaluate on- and off-campus recruitment programs. Network with service and academic departments to stay updated on changing academic policies. Collect and report statistical data on admissions and recruitment. May suggest minor modifications to processes to enhance the department’s performance. Knowledge of transfer recruiting. Perform other duties as assigned.
