What We Seek

The Regional Vice President of Professional Learning is the executive officer of the services business in their assigned region. To excel in this role, you will champion the long-term vision and mission of the department (and company), oversee the effective delivery of services, expand business, drive profitability, improve efficiencies, maintain accountability, monitor KPIs, and cultivate a strong, collaborative culture across their regional group. 
This role reports to the Chief Services Officer and works collaboratively within and across the department to best meet the needs of each of our customer partners. 
 
What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Managing the Professional Learning Business Regionally 
    • Overseeing the equitable distribution, proper forecasting, and effective delivery of all professional learning activities across all content verticals in your region 
    • Effectively tracking and regularly communicating regional delivery forecasts, sales forecasts, sales support usage, team utilization metrics, and team profitability across the services leadership group
    • Consistently leveraging SalesForce to identify and track opportunities for and forecasting professional learning sales in your region
    • Consistently leveraging SalesForce to forecast professional learning delivery in your region, quarterly
    • Utilizing both to forecast headcount needs for your region
    • Driving your team toward accomplishing individual, departmental, and company-wide goals
    • Ensuring the highest level of service delivery in your territory and departmentally; addresses and resolves PL partner concerns, prioritizes PL partner needs, and gathers/analyzes PL partner feedback.
  • Managing and Mentoring Your Team
    • Championing the overall mission and core values of the Services division (and the company as a whole) and cultivating them across your team
    • Leading, growing, and developing a lean team of Directors:
    • Managing the day-to-day requests and approvals for each team member under your care
    • Building agency in and empowering Directors to take ownership of their role/responsibilities, to invest in their own individual professional growth, and to cultivate agency and professional growth in their team members
    • Fostering a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together to enable each team member to succeed
    • Communicating regularly withDirectors individually (weekly) and as a region (as needed)
    • Utilizing the annual reflection and quarterly goal-setting (TAP plans) and check-in conversations through the Make Us Better Campaign to drive Directors toward our goals
  • Managing Tiered Customer Partnerships
    • Supporting (owning or collaborating with the Customer Success team to own) VIP accounts in your territory (as needed)
    • Creating and managing a full-scale scope of work in partnership with the customer
    • Scheduling and managing all professional learning according to the scope of work and ensures thorough data collection and reporting
    • Facilitating partnership meetings with key stakeholders to promote data-driven accountability
    • Strategically establishing goals at the beginning of each PL partnership as well as collecting and using data to track on the partnership goals throughout the implementation
  • Supporting Sales
    • Partnering with Sales RVPs and Account Executives to ensure collaboration and communication across sales & services and to close business in high-profile opps in your region/territory
    • Proactively monitoring sales activity and opportunities in their territory and taking the initiative to support business development in creative ways
    • Delegating various sales support activities (e.g. designing customer-specific solutions, proposals, and RFP responses for professional learning and product-specific sales opportunities) to the appropriate Director and/or Sr. MSP  
    • Where appropriate, supporting the sales team by delivering presentations and designing customer-specific solutions, proposals, and RFP responses for professional learning and product-specific sales opportunities
    • When needed, provide presence and thought leadership at regional and national summits, conferences, and other events

TRAVEL COMMITMENT NOTE: Because this role is field-based it will require travel somewhere around 50-60% of the time, regionally. 
 
What Should Be In Your Bookbag

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (specific to your content vertical), Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • Classroom teaching experience
  • 8+ years experience leading a team or 5+ years experience designing and facilitating Carnegie Learning professional learning (preferred)
  • Cognitive Coaching certification
  • Significant success in the MSP and/or Sr. MSP role(s 
  • Exemplifies all of our core values to the highest level 
  • Exceptional time management skills including detailed calendar management, effective goal setting, efficiency in task prioritization, and consistently meets deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations
  • Ability to remain solution-minded and detail-oriented; always looking for ways to improve efficiency, communication as well as the team and/or customer experience
  • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision  
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
