We are looking for:
A Remote Technical Cybersecurity Instructional Designer with SimSpace, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the way industry professionals understand and combat digital threats. On the front lines of educational content, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex technical topics into engaging and clear training modules, utilizing our immersive virtual cyber environments. It's about cultivating a deep knowledge of cybersecurity that resonates with learners and aligns with the pulse of this rapidly evolving field. Your commitment to detail, organization, and quality will empower our clients to stay one step ahead in the dynamic world of cybersecurity.
What will you be doing as an Instructional Designer at SimSpace?
- Collaborate with content experts to develop comprehensive cybersecurity course materials that support progressive learning and to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and aligned to real-world needs.
- Design engaging and effective learning activities that improve retention and enable learners to confidently apply cybersecurity knowledge.
- Write clear, measurable learning objectives aligned with essential cybersecurity competencies.
- Leverage SimSpace’s virtual cyber environments to design realistic, hands-on exercises that simulate actual threat scenarios.
- Contribute to the evolution and scalability of our content development process, helping refine workflows, templates, and quality standards.
- Play an active role in team growth and operational improvement, shaping how we build and deliver training at scale
Requirements and Skills
- 4-year college degree in instructional design, learning experience design, education, English, technical writing, journalism, communications, or other relevant field, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- 3+ years in instructional design and curriculum development.
- 2+ years with cybersecurity or information technology education or training.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
- Ability to structure content within virtual learning environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and protocols.
- Ability to coach and collaborate with subject matter experts in conveying technical material to adult audiences.
- Ability to design assessments and feedback mechanisms for learning modules.
- U.S. citizenship as required by our existing U.S. Government contracts.
- Certification in Cybersecurity is a plus (e.g., Security+, Network+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity or equivalent).
