Job Summary
The Research Account Administrator will manage a designated group of faculty research portfolios and is responsible for providing support to faculty researchers within the Office of Research.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with expediting projects through the steps required to bring a proposal from submission through post award.
- Work closely with faculty to shepherd the administration of research through the appropriate processes by maintaining continuous flow through proposal submission, award, and post award activities.
- Act as a designated specialist for research portfolios to promote communication among the investigator team, take responsibility for project reporting and coordination, prepare and review grant projections, and work with the Principal Investigator (PI) to address any issues.
- Interface with participants, sponsors, subcontractors, and other Purdue offices including business office and sponsored program units regarding budget revisions and other financial issues.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or related field of study.
- Two years of account management, financial management, or related experience.
Skills Needed:
- Ability to identify problems, analyze information, and implement solutions.
- Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility, maintaining quality standards, and handling confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
- Must be extremely flexible and adaptable to constantly varying work environments and with limited daily supervision.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement policies and procedures.
- Proficient with personal computer and related software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, database, internet, etc.).
- Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical ability to work under pressure and time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize work, be organized, and be able to multi-task.
What is Helpful:
- Two years of experience in portfolio management.
- Ability to functionally supervise others.
- Knowledge of and skills in using SAP and Success Factors.

- This is a hybrid position with a combination of remote and on-campus work.

The anticipated annual rate for this position is $64,940, commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
