Research Assistant Full Description

Job Description
The Montague Lab at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Research Technologist/Assistant to support interdisciplinary research in human neuroscience. This hybrid role integrates technical research operations with data and business coordination across multiple sites. The successful candidate will facilitate research participant engagement, manage imaging and behavioral experiment logistics, and provide cross-functional support to ensure the seamless execution of protocols.

The role includes lab-based technical functions, site management responsibilities, and data/business oversight such as coordinating research activities across multiple institutions, managing budgets and procurement for research equipment, supporting grant renewals with data and enrollment metrics, and assisting with the organization of team meetings and reporting.
Required Qualifications
• Experience working in a research lab setting with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to manage datasets and documents.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated background in business administration, research coordination, or cross-institutional project management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Coursework or degree in neuroscience, psychology, business, economics, or related field.
• Experience with imaging modalities or technical equipment.
• Strong communication skills.
