Department Summary
The Research Integrity and Compliance (RIC) unit within the Division of Research & Innovation is committed to serving, educating, and supporting the UNT research community by assuring the Institution and investigators are conducting research in compliance with local, state and federal regulations, and university policies and procedures. RIC administers and oversees UNT's research compliance programs, including but not limited to: IRB, IACUC, COi, Export Controls, and RCR.

Position Overview
The Research Compliance Analyst is a staff position within the Division of Research & Innovation - Research Integrity & Compliance unit that provides administrative oversight of research compliance. The Research Compliance Analyst position is designated to manage Conflict of Interest (COI) and Research Integrity, including responsibility for: reviewing and processing COI disclosures, developing COI management plans, coordinating campus-wide trainings for COI and Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), and coordinating COI committee meetings. The Research Compliance Analyst position reports to the Director, Ethics & International Research Compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Public Administration or related field and three years professional business administration work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to understand, analyze and communicate effectively with faculty and administrators regarding human subject research.
* Ability to handle multiple, time-critical tasks.
* Ability to respond to and resolve routine inquiries or complaints from faculty and staff.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, website content construction, communication and basic statistical operations.
* Effective written and oral communication skills.
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education research administration.

Job Duties
Reviews and processes COI disclosures to manage potential conflicts with funded research projects and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Serves as liaison between COI committee chairpersons and researchers to resolve moderately complex issues regarding COI disclosures and research management plans; and coordinates COI committee meetings. Develops educational training tools for delivery of campus-wide training required for COI and RCR to ensure compliance with all university, state, and federal regulations and policies.Develops and implements research compliance forms and web content updates for COI and RCR to inform and educate university researchers of changes in regulatory requirements and responsibilities. Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.
