Job Description  | The Research Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing the technical capabilities of the Institute for Cybersecurity (ICS) by investigating, developing, and deploying new technologies, methodologies, and systems.

This position is responsible for collaborating with faculty to conduct research, optimize existing solutions, and customize resources to meet the diverse needs of ICS stakeholders, including federal agencies, municipalities, industry partners, and academia. The Research Engineer will also support the preparation of technical documentation, assist with research funding, and help coordinate activities with other institutions.

Required Qualifications 
Education 
Must have an MS degree in digital forensics, cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline.

Experience  
Demonstrated experience in a technical research or engineering role, preferably within cybersecurity or a related field. Strong experience with system optimization, technology prototyping, and deployment. Ability to conduct research and publish findings in collaboration with academic faculty. Familiarity with maintaining technical documentation and ensuring resource functionality. Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity drive new technological ideas. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
